Gulf And Arab Creativity Awardees Are Honored By National Council
The National Council for Culture, Arts, and Literature recently hosted a ceremony to celebrate the winners of the Creativity Awards. This event, held at the luxurious Waldorf Astoria Hotel, was under the patronage of Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, the Minister of Information and Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs. It recognized the remarkable achievements and contributions of Kuwait's participants in various festivals across the Gulf and Arab world, as reported by Al Rai newspaper.

In a speech delivered on behalf of Minister Al-Mutairi, Dr. Mohammed Al-Jassar, the Secretary-General of the Council, emphasized Kuwait's longstanding tradition of honoring its cultural symbols and creators. He stated that this recognition serves not only as loyalty to distinguished individuals but also as a vital pillar in stimulating creative expression in the country. Throughout its history, Kuwait has valued the arts and culture.
Dr. Al-Jassar highlighted the nation’s significant accomplishments in the arts, attributing this success to the unwavering support of Kuwait's intellectuals and artists, alongside wise leadership. He pointed out that numerous artists and directors have achieved prestigious accolades at various theater and film festivals, showcasing the high level of creativity and professionalism found within the Kuwaiti artistic community.
Recognizing Impactful Kuwaiti Creators
Expressing pride in honoring Kuwaiti creators excelling in theater and cinema, Dr. Al-Jassar noted their substantial impact on festivals in both Gulf countries and the wider Arab world. He remarked that these artists not only produce outstanding works but also strengthen the Kuwaiti cultural identity, promoting it on both the Arab and international stages. Their recognition is a well-deserved acknowledgment of their continuous efforts and serves as an inspiration for future generations to present works reflecting Kuwait's authentic culture and rich heritage.
The Secretary-General also conveyed heartfelt prayers and best wishes to esteemed artists Ibrahim Al-Salal and Abdullah Al-Ruwaished for their safe return home after successful medical treatments.
Ceremony Highlights
The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Al-Jassar and Musaad Al-Zamil, the Assistant Secretary-General for the Arts Sector. The event was characterized by a warm and familial atmosphere, with Hashem Asad serving as the host.
During the ceremony, the honorees included notable figures such as Ahmed Al-Salman, Abdullah Al-Turkmani, Samah, Abdulaziz Behbhani, Amer Boukabir, Ahmed Al-Rashidi, writer Taghreed Al-Dawood, and director Mohammed Al-Ansari. Additional honorees included artists Maitham Badr, Faisal Al-Obeid, Dr. Fahad Al-Mu’dan, Suleiman Al-Bassam, Hala Omran, Nassar Al-Nassar, Rasha Al-Nasrallah, writer Mohammed Al-Hutaib, and director Ahmed Al-Khudari, alongside the Kuwaiti delegation at the 14th Gulf Theater Festival.
Following the awards presentation, a concert directed by Maestro Bassam Al-Balushi was held, accompanied by a dinner in honor of the distinguished honorees.
