Fraud Shopkeepers Targeted
The inspection and emergency teams at the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Department in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry have ramped up their efforts in commercial markets and shops across Kuwait. These intensified inspections aim to ensure strict compliance with commercial laws and protect consumer rights as the country prepares for the upcoming Eid Al-Adha.
Three Shops Closed During Farwaniya Inspection Campaign
Director of the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection Department, Faisal Al-Ansari, announced that the Farwaniya Governorate Emergency Department recently conducted an intensive inspection campaign across various markets in the governorate. As a result of these efforts, three shops were ordered to close for violating commercial regulations related to invoice terms. The affected establishments included one party and wedding supply store and two furniture stores located in Dajeej.
Team Commended for Proactive Market Oversight
Al-Ansari praised the dedicated efforts of the emergency inspection team, led by Farwaniya Inspector Mansour Al-Juraidan, alongside inspectors Hamad Al-Bidan, Turki Al-Duwailah, Mishari Al-Mutairi, and Ghamlas Al-Khurainij. He emphasized the crucial role these teams play in maintaining market integrity and consumer safety during this busy season.
Ongoing Inspections to Safeguard Consumer Interests
As Eid Al-Adha approaches, the Ministry has pledged to continue inspections across all markets, with a particular focus on verifying the safety and quality of food products and other consumer goods. The goal is to foster a trustworthy commercial environment and prevent any malpractices that could harm consumers.
This initiative is part of a broader government effort to ensure a safe and transparent market experience for both residents and visitors during the festive season.
Market Compliance a Priority for Authorities
In light of the inspection results, authorities are urging all shop owners and vendors to adhere strictly to Kuwait's commercial laws and guidelines. Compliance not only protects consumers but also enhances the credibility and reputation of businesses operating within the country.
