‘establish Car Wash Stations In Co-ops’
The Ministry of Social Affairs has asked Kuwait Municipality to introduce an investment activity called “establishing a car wash station” in cooperative societies, reports Al-Qabas daily In a letter addressed to the municipality regarding the request of the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Cooperative Society for the establishment of a car wash station to serve the people of the area, the ministry highlighted that the Municipal Council’s decision issued on October 10, 2011 did not include the proposed activity within the activities authorized to be established in cooperative societies.
The ministry explained in the letter that for a long period of time since the issuance of the Municipal Council’s decision and with the development in various fields, the activities required to be available in cooperative societies have developed, and the proposed request to establish a car wash station has become one of the basic activities required for its importance in serving the shareholders of cooperative societies and the residents of the area especially women and the elderly as well as those with disabilities that render them unable to access car wash stations. There is no difficulty in the proposal of the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Cooperative Society, as it was applied in gas stations in different residential areas. The ministry called for referring the matter to the Municipal Council and its specialized committees to study and decide on the proposal and work on approving it to achieve the potential of the cooperative societies, their shareholders and the people of all residential areas.
