CSC Announces Ramadan Working Hours For Public Sector
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has released a new circular outlining the official working hours for employees during Ramadan. The directive applies to both morning and evening shifts, ensuring a structured yet flexible approach to work hours during the holy month.
Morning Shift: Flexible Timing System
Employees working the morning shift are required to follow a flexible schedule. As per the CSC circular, morning work hours can begin at any time between 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM, with a total work duration of four and a half hours.
Evening Shift: Designated Start Time
For the evening shift, employees must adhere to the official working hours specified under CSC’s circular No. 12/2024. The evening shift will not commence before 6:45 PM and will also have a total duration of four and a half hours.
Government Efforts to Ensure Efficiency During Ramadan
The CSC’s structured working hours aim to enhance employee productivity while accommodating the religious and cultural significance of Ramadan. By implementing a flexible system, the commission ensures that work commitments are met without disrupting the spiritual obligations of fasting employees.
