Checkpoints Boost Security Across Kuwait
Captain Bader Musaed Al-Mutairi, Head of the Operations Department in the Public Security Sector, outlined the department's critical roles in ensuring the safety and security of Kuwait's residents. These responsibilities include maintaining public order, receiving reports, and directing them to the appropriate sectors or police stations for action. Moreover, the sector is tasked with executing service orders issued by the General Department of Central Operations.
Traffic Enforcement and Patrol Operations
In an insightful interview on Kuwait Radio, Captain Al-Mutairi emphasized the authority granted to security officers within the Public Security Sector, including the power to issue traffic tickets to offenders. The sector’s patrol units are also actively deployed to address reckless driving and dangerous behavior, particularly in high-risk areas. Violators are promptly apprehended and referred to the General Traffic Department for further action.
Handling Disturbances and Disputes
Captain Al-Mutairi also shed light on how the Public Security Sector deals with disturbances, particularly quarrels or conflicts in private housing involving bachelors. Upon receiving such reports, security patrols are dispatched to intervene, apprehend the involved individuals, and transfer them to the relevant police stations. Furthermore, if complaints regarding bachelors living in private housing arise, the sector coordinates with the Municipality to ensure the necessary actions are taken.
Collaboration for Broader Security Efforts
In a bid to strengthen security across Kuwait, Captain Al-Mutairi shared that the Public Security Sector collaborates with multiple agencies, including the Ministry of Commerce, the Municipality, and the General Authority for Public Force. Together, they conduct security campaigns targeting violators of residency and labor laws, as well as individuals with outstanding warrants. This cooperation is part of a broader security plan being implemented across all governorates of Kuwait.
Establishment of Checkpoints and Advanced Technology
As part of the ongoing security efforts, Captain Al-Mutairi highlighted the establishment of checkpoints at various strategic locations. These checkpoints play a pivotal role in enhancing security by utilizing advanced "fingerprint" devices. These devices help verify identities and facilitate the identification and apprehension of wanted individuals or lawbreakers, further strengthening law enforcement measures in the country.
Conclusion
Captain Bader Musaed Al-Mutairi's insights into the Public Security Sector reveal a dynamic and proactive approach to law enforcement in Kuwait. With enhanced security operations, collaborative efforts, and the use of advanced technology, the Public Security Sector continues to play a key role in maintaining order and safety across the nation.
