Boost For Kuwaiti Farm Products In Markets

Dr. Amthal AlHuwailah, Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs, underscored the critical need to bolster support for local agricultural products during a meeting with the follow-up committee on Monday. The discussion centered around increasing the visibility of locally produced goods in consumer cooperative societies and sales outlets, aligning with the ministry’s aim to develop the cooperative sector and contribute to Kuwait’s national economy.

Recommendations for Improving Local Product Support

The meeting led by AlHuwailah explored several recommendations to enhance support for local agricultural products. The minister emphasized the ministry's efforts to enforce regulations regarding the designated support percentage and improve control mechanisms to balance the supply of local goods in cooperative societies.

AlHuwailah revealed that a new mechanism has been designed to regulate the purchasing process within cooperative societies. She emphasized that the follow-up committee will provide regular activity reports to the ministry, facilitating efficient monitoring and development to achieve the intended objectives.

Promoting Workforce Kuwaitization in Cooperative Societies
