An Army Colonel Is Killed In A Road Accident; The Colleague Is Being Interrogated
Colonel Muhammad Mubarak Al-Hajri was killed in a horrific traffic accident on Wafra Road when his colleague's patrol car apparently lost control and killed the officer on the spot.
"The driver of the vehicle that caused the collision has been apprehended and referred for questioning," Al-Rai stated, citing security sources, but disputing allegations that the police car was involved in a "chase."
While Sheikh Ahmed Al-Mansour, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Major-General Anwar Abdullatif Al-Barjas, and senior officers from the security establishment expressed their condolences for Colonel Al-death, Hajri's security sources said the Ministry of Interior is investigating the incident and unloading the patrol's cameras to reveal the circumstances of the accident and learn the truth.
The car was speeding over the permitted limit, according to the General Traffic Department's radar cameras, according to the sources. According to the patrol's video records, the painful collision was triggered by a violent divergence from the far left to the center and right lanes.
