8,000 Pilgrims Selected For Hajj Amid Enhanced Services
Kuwait's Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Al-Wasmi, has confirmed the successful and transparent sorting process for Hajj pilgrims for the 1446 AH season. This process aimed to ensure fairness regarding the numbers, categories, and sects of participants, as well as maintain high standards of service quality.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Minister Al-Wasmi emphasized the ministry's commitment to addressing any challenges during registration. He assured that measures are in place to provide a seamless experience for pilgrims, enabling them to choose from available campaigns.
Registration Statistics and Campaign Standards
Dr. Al-Wasmi revealed that 37,700 individuals registered for the pilgrimage, with 8,000 selected for this year’s Hajj. He expressed optimism about collaborating with Saudi authorities to potentially increase participation.
Highlighting the excellence of Kuwaiti Hajj campaigns, the Minister noted that the legal framework and operational standards established for the process ensure high efficiency. He also remarked that Kuwaiti Hajj campaigns are renowned for their quality both locally and internationally.
Insights from the Hajj and Umrah Department
Sattam Al-Muzain, Director of the Hajj and Umrah Department, elaborated on the sorting process, which was conducted transparently under the guidelines of the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah Affairs. He confirmed the registration portal is now closed, with 7,700 pilgrims remaining in the system.
According to Al-Muzain, the sorting process involved representatives from Hajj campaigns to guarantee fairness. Categories were assigned specific quotas, and priority was given to the oldest applicants and their companions.
Notification and Next Steps
Accepted pilgrims will receive notifications via text messages and the Sahel application. Al-Muzain also cautioned that individuals failing to register within the stipulated five-day window will be excluded, paving the way for new applicants to join.
Commitment to Excellence in Service Delivery
The Ministry continues to uphold its dedication to providing comprehensive services to Hajj pilgrims, ensuring that the selection process remains fair, transparent, and efficient.
By maintaining these high standards, Kuwait reinforces its reputation for organizing outstanding Hajj campaigns recognized both regionally and internationally.
