Kuwait’s National Celebrations Witness 98% Decline in Water Spraying Incidents

Colonel Fahd Al-Essa, Director of the Traffic Awareness Department at the Ministry of Interior, praised the public’s cooperation in ensuring that this year’s national celebrations remained civilized and orderly. Authorities recorded only 30 reports of water spraying, reflecting a 98% decrease compared to previous years.

Strict Adherence to Ministry Guidelines

Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates complied with the Ministry of Interior’s instructions, ensuring celebrations were free from major traffic violations and disruptive behavior. The success of the event was largely attributed to strategic planning and security measures implemented under the directives of Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

Effective Deployment of Security Forces

To maintain order, security personnel were strategically stationed at key gathering spots, including:

  • Abdali and Wafra farms
  • Chalets and Kabd region
  • Jaber Bridge and Subiya
  • Martyr’s Park and Arabian Gulf Street

Additionally, 194 female students from the Women’s Police Institute, along with officer students, played a crucial role in handling reported incidents efficiently. Coordination with the Environment Authority also contributed to a smooth and environmentally responsible celebration.

Minimal Traffic Violations and Accidents

Despite large public gatherings, authorities reported a significant reduction in incidents:

  • 30 cases of water spraying were referred for legal action.
  • Two minor run-over accidents, both without injuries.
  • Four minor accidents recorded.
  • 4,000 traffic violations issued during the celebration period.

This year’s well-organized security plan ensured a safe and enjoyable celebration for all while reinforcing public awareness about responsible festivities.
