Kuwait English School is the learning home of a very special community of students (ages 3 – 19 years), parents, educationalists, administrators and management. We all share the common aim, to ensure that each student in our care accesses the most valuable, fulfilling and enjoyable learning experiences at each stage of his/her school life. As students mature and recognise that they have special talents and skills, principally nurtured by the school’s excellent teaching staff, there are many opportunities for students to contribute to the quality of school life and take upon additional responsibilities.The school naturally divides into four main areas each one supervised and continuously overseen and developed by four Head Teachers who, along with their staff teams, care deeply about education and the quality of life from which the pupils benefit both in and out of school. We all share the common aim, to ensure that each student in our care accesses the most valuable, fulfilling and enjoyable learning experiences at each stage of his/her school life.The establishment of Kuwait English School was, in 1978, the dream of the present School Chairman, Mr. Mohamed Jassim Al Saddah, at that time serving as Kuwait’s Ambassador to Spain and the current Founder/Director, Mrs. Rhoda Elizabeth Muhmood; both shared a passion for education, a modest villa in which to start the School (September 1979) was found until in 1984, with a population of some 1500 students of all ages, a purpose-built school was opened. Since that time there have been innumerable developments to ever improve the facilities and the quality of education.The Preparatory Department provides a unique learning environment for the youngest children at Kuwait English School. The Department houses KG and Reception children. There are nine Kindergarten classes and seven Reception classes. Please visit our Department, if you are able to, as you will be able to experience the happy, caring, purposeful learning environment we have created for our children.The Department is located about 100 metres from the main school building and we are fortunate to have a fabulous, recently renovated, self sufficient, Early Years’ Centre in which the children can learn and play. We strive to provide an environment which achieves our vision of inspiring, challenging and encouraging every single one of our children in all aspects of their learning.The Department also has two computer suites. Despite this, children need to learn the many skills for everyday life and we provide a broad curriculum that follows the Early Years Foundation Stage of the English National Curriculum to provide children with the important foundation that they need. We assess children according to the Early Learning Goals at the end of Reception. The Department also has a hall, Music room, sports area and two playgrounds.
