Temperature Increases Cause Electricity Load Index To Rise

As temperatures soar, the electricity load index has surged past the orange threshold, presenting fresh challenges. The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy anticipates a surge in loads for the upcoming summer, citing constrained production levels hovering around 18,600 megawatts. However, the ministry's projections for the maximum load peak at 17,250 megawatts.

Recent reports highlight a concerning trend as the electricity load index peaked at 11,244 megawatts on Saturday, marking the highest recorded load during this period. This uptick underscores the pressing need for proactive measures to manage electricity consumption and ensure stability in supply during peak demand periods.
