The Assistant Undersecretary for Special and Specific Education at the Ministry of Education, Dr. Abdul Mohsen Al-Huwaila, announced that written exams of all kinds will not be permitted to be held within the school campus for private schools of all educational systems, provided that students continue to be evaluated according to the approved decision for foreign schools and what the Ministry has agreed with regarding the evaluation of students in relation to private Arab schools, Al Rai daily reported.

A decision issued by Al-Huwaila in this regard stipulates that foreign private schools are assigned to organize international-based examinations in coordination with international academic accreditation bodies dependent on its educational system in implementation of the provisions of this recent decision, provided that previous approvals that contradict it are canceled.”

Some foreign schools under a foreign educational system held written exams for their students during the first semester after the approval of the Department of Special Education and the Ministry of Health, based on the provision of the required health regulations.

Al-Huwaila explained that the decision comes based on the Ministry of Health’s recommendation that urges schools not to allow exams of any kind with the attendance of students on the school campus at the present time until the coronavirus situation improves.
