Woman ‘born In Kuwait’ Sentenced For Theft In Uk
A British court has sentenced a woman ‘born in Kuwait’ to 8 months suspended prison sentence, after finding her guilty of stealing a Kuwaiti tourist’s bag that contained luxury personal belongings worth £76,000 pounds (about $100 thousand), in an incident that occurred about two years ago. According to what was published by the British media, including the ‘The Sun’ and ‘Daily Mail’ newspapers, the details of the incident date back to September 2018, a Kuwaiti while travelling by train from London Paddington station to Cardiff Central station was robbed and the suspect, born in Kuwait and mother of two children and a resident of Britain since she was six years old was accused of the theft.
According to the case documents, the convict identified only as (H.F.) approached the Kuwaiti tourist during the trip and feigned a friendly chat with her after she told her that she was born in Kuwait, but her real target was centered on the shelf overhead belonging to the wealthy Kuwaiti tourist, which was her bag which was clearly very up-to-date and contained expensive personal belongings including precious watches, jewelry, earrings and gold necklaces. And through that malicious chatting, (H.F.) succeeded in distracting the victim and when the train arrived at the Cardiff Central station the victim realized her bag was missing. H.F. had allegedly left with the bag when she got off the train at her destination in Swansea County.
At that time, Kuwaiti woman had filed a complaint with the police, who began their investigations until they succeeded in identifying the fraudster, arrested her, and referred her to trial. After months of interrogations and hearings, the suspect finally confessed to stealing the bag, and in light of the evidence against her, the court decided to punish her with an 8-month imprisonment with a suspended sentence to protect the interest and future of her two children, and obliged her to undergo psychological rehabilitation program.
