Volume Of Direct Investments Amounts To Kd 230 Million

Kuwait's direct investment since the first quarter of the current fiscal year (the first of April 2016) amounted to more than 230 million Kuwaiti dinars, said Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Yousef Al-Ali on Monday.

Al-Ali said in an interview with the Arabic-language daily newspaper "Al-Rai" that the total volume of investments since the beginning of work of Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority in 2015 and to date has reached more than kd 635 million.

The requests submitted by foreign companies during the past three months are concentrated in the service, information technology, telecommunications and energy sectors, he added. 

He pointed out that the ministry is working on reducing the documentary cycle to one step, as well as separation of corporate founding and licensing procedures and the launch of an electronic system for transaction procedures.
