Violation Of Public Modesty Not Allowed
In less than 24 hours following the arrest of the ‘Instagram’ celebrity which was followed by deportation some of the bloggers and people who appear in indecent dress on the social media to attract followers particularly on the ‘Snapchat’ are said to have refrained from wearing ‘cheeky’ clothes, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
A security source pointed the Iranian ‘Shihab’, of Instagram fame was arrested for committing several offenses and after signing pledges he continued to violate public modesty, which necessitated his removal from the country in order to preserve Kuwaiti customs and traditions.
The source pointed out any person – citizen or an expatriate – irrespective of position in society who violates public modesty will be arrested i m m e d i – ately. The citizen will be referred to the court and the expatriate will be expelled from the country. Earlier , the Ministry of Interior had issued a decision to deport ‘Shihab’ for publishing videos on the social networking site, Instagram, which violated public morals.
According to a security source, personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) men arrested the suspect after he posted videos critical of the opposite sex. In a related context, the Ministry of Interior confirmed that the ministry’s security sector – the Cybercrime Combating Department – followed up what was published in social media, which violated public morals, and behavior was seen as detrimental to the customs and traditions of the Kuwaiti society.
The ministry added after a search and arrest was issued against the suspect, he was whisked away for interrogation and deported from the country. It is noteworthy to mention ‘Shihab’ has about 1.6 million followers on Instagram.
