The violation of parking in places allocated for disabled people has been transformed from just a traffic violation to a misdemeanor.

Therefore, such cases will be handled by the General Investigations Department, which will in turn refer the cases to the Public Prosecution.

According to informed sources, the process agreed upon is that traffic men will issue a traffic citation on vehicles that park in such spots. A block will be placed on the transactions of the concerned citizens or expatriates, preventing them from completing their transactions at Ministry of Interior including renewal of passport or drivers’ license, car insurance, renewal of residencies of domestic workers by Kuwaitis, and renewal of residencies for expatriates.

Citizens and residents should check with the General Investigations Department and receive a report stating that interrogations on the misdemeanor have been completed and referred to the judiciary. It will then take a week or two for the removal of the block.
