Vaccination Is Not Required For Umrah
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced a number of instructions accompanying the implementation of the decision to lift the precautionary measures in the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, according to Mohammad Nasser Al-Mutairi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs for Foreign Relations and Information.
According to a local Arabic newspaper, Al-Mutairi stated that the most essential directives include canceling prayer permissions in the Grand Mosque as well as permits to see the Prophet, peace be upon him, and his two companions, may God be pleased with them.
Permits for Umrah and visits to the Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah will continue to be issued by the Saudi ministry. It is a location between the Prophet's house (PBUH), i.e. Aisha's house, God Bless her, and the Holy Rostrum) from which the Prophet used to speak.
Al-Mutairi went on to say that while social distancing restrictions are no longer in effect in the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, face masks are required, and the requirement to present a negative PCR test or an approved examination for Coronavirus antigens is no longer in effect.
. The requirement to verify immunization status for entry to the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque for all guests, as well as the requirement to register immunization data in order to obtain an Umrah permit if coming from outside the Kingdom, have been canceled, according to Al-Mutairi, implying that vaccination is no longer required to perform Umrah.
Institutional and residential quarantine requirements for pilgrims arriving from outside the Kingdom have also been removed.
