‘vaccinate Salon Workers’
The field team tasked with following up and monitoring health requirements in women’s activities today carried out an inspection campaign that included all Kuwait Governorates — salons and clubs to ensure that appointments, social distancing, and other health requirements are adhered to including the number of people present inside salons and clubs according to the requirements in order to continue with these activities operating, reports Al-Anba daily. In this context, the head of the team Lieutenant-General Hanan Al-Muhammad said in a press statement, that the committee has issued, since the beginning of its work, 422 violations to commercial establishments for violating health requirements.
Al-Muhammad added that the committee, with the return of the activities of salons, sports and health institutes, intensified its campaigns, after it came to the knowledge of the committee that these places had become crowded, especially in the afternoon, and accordingly it warned that health requirements should be adhered to.
Engr Fatima Abdel-Malek, from the Department of Occupational Safety at the Public Authority for Manpower, said on the sidelines of the tour, in a special statement to the daily, that the team includes inspectors from PAM and the Ministry of Commerce and Kuwait Municipality, with the support of the women’s police in the Ministry of Interior. Engr Fatma added, during a tour of 11 salons in Jabriya, the team issued three citations, while warning others to adhere to the instructions of the Council of Minister. She added, every authority is authorized to take action in relation to non-compliance, which begins by issuing a notification, and in the event of non-compliance during reinspection, a citation is issued and is issued.
Regarding the number of people inside the salons, Engr Fatima explained the number in the salon is according to its area, and “we stress that the number of workers is small and commensurate with the number of customers, and it is between one worker and another 10 square meters and between one person and another waiting person is two meters. She emphasized that the inspection covers all governorates on a daily basis, and that the distribution is done in areas based on the number of salons and spas.
Engr Fatima added, because of the specified time and hours of the ban, some salons receive a large number in a short time, and this “we follow up and we are keen to see it does not happen again with a commitment to the numbers and time to avoid penalty. “We hope the salon owners will urge the workers to take vaccination in order to avoid the spread of the virus,” she said.
