Unpaid Leave For Teachers Stranded Abroad
The Arabic local newspaper Alrai reported that Civil Service Bureau resolved the crisis of teachers stranded abroad due to the decision to ban flight to 31 countries, indicating that “starting from the date of the beginning of the work of school personnel, the teacher may request that he be granted one of the legally prescribed leave, including the special leave without pay, including Its maximum limit does not exceed 15 days, and the leave can be requested by telephone or by any other means, but in the event that the conditions for granting any type of leave are not met, then he is considered cut off from work with a compelling excuse and is not entitled to his salaries pursuant to the wage-for-work rule.
The Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs at the Civil Service Bureau, Diaa al-Qabandi, addressed the employees stranded abroad and not subject to the school holidays system, confirming that “the employee who left the country on periodic leave before the 12th of last March and was unable to return to work because of the flight ban, as of this date on vacation Official and rest days approved by the Council of Ministers, and he deserves his salary during the period of suspension of work. “
And she stated in a letter that she addressed to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, “After the end of work suspension in government agencies and the continuing impossibility of returning the employee who left the country to start work, it is permissible for him to request granting him periodic leave within the limits of his balance thereof, and he may also request granting him one of the legally prescribed leave, including the special leave without A salary that does not exceed the maximum of 15 days, “confirmed” “in the event that the conditions for granting any type of leave are not met, then he is considered ceased from work with a compelling excuse and is not entitled to his salaries pursuant to the wage-for-work rule.
