Two Persons Accused Of Leaking And Publishing Data Of The Civil Service Commission
The Public Prosecution released activists Ali Al-Thuweini and Najat Al-Qallaf on KD 1000 bail per person. The duo is accused of leaking and publishing data of the Civil Service Commission.
It is worthy of note the Public Prosecution detained the two activists last Thursday in order to complete investigation on charges leveled against them for leaking and publishing official data illegally and misusing mobile phone.
The Public Prosecution is carrying out investigations over a petition filed by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) concerning leaking of official information, reports Al-Qabas daily.
An activist in issues related to the disabled people Ali Thuwaini and a former official of Public Authority for the Disabled Affairs Najat Al-Qallaf will be subject to interrogations by the Public Prosecution.
According to a source, the Criminal Investigations Department had received a directive from the Public Prosecution to find and arrest Al-Thuwaini and Al-Qallaf in line with a petition filed by CSC which accused them of leaking official information on Twitter about appointments in state bodies.
;From the Criminal Investigations Department, Al-Thuwaini and Al-Qallaf were then referred to the Public Prosecution after which a decision was issued to detain them for continuing the investigations.
Both Al-Thuwaini and Al-Qallaf denied the charges leveled against them by the Public Prosecution.
A number of lawyers declared that they will volunteer for defending Al-Thuwaini and Al-Qallaf, indicating that both of them will not be able to survive detention due to their advanced ages.
They stressed that Al-Thuwaini and Al-Qallaf do not deserve to be detained over the lawsuit.
In addition, Deputy President of Kuwait Lawyers Association Sheryan Al-Sheryan said they will not accept the referral of a citizen to the Public Prosecution for sharing information related to corruption in the state bodies, insisting that citizens who participate in exposing corruption must be thanked.
