Two Indian Expats To Be Deported Over Alcohol

20 February 2022 Crime News

Two Indian expatriates will be deported from Kuwait due to dealing in prohibited alcohol, according to a local newspaper.

Police arrested them while they were in possession of more than 400 alcohol bottles in the southern governorate of Al Ahmadi, Al Anba reported.

Maj. Gen. Saleh Matar, the chief of the Al Ahmadi security department, ordered the pair detained until they can be deported.

A list of their names is also set up to bar them from reentering Kuwait. They will also destroy the alcohol they seized, according to the statement.

A crackdown on illegal alcohol plants in Kuwait has led to several arrests and hauls over the past few months.

Four Asian expatriates were arrested last week in Al Ahmadi by Kuwait's Interior Ministry for operating an illegal alcohol plant.

According to ministry officials, the offenders had 1,500 locally manufactured alcohol bottles ready for sale when they were apprehended.
