Turkey, Dubai And Egypt Are The Top Travel Destinations For Kuwaitis On New Year Holidays
With the New Year just around the corner, how to spend the holidays has become a preoccupation for the vast majority of individuals and families who look for fun and joy especially the young people.
Some will travel for more than two weeks, while others will spend the New Year Eve here in Kuwait and the options available are either to go to a restaurant, hotel, chalet, or a farmhouse in light of the lack of entertainment and tourist destinations in Kuwait, reports Al-Qabas daily.
As for those wishing to travel, planning has been cautious following the outbreak of the new Omicron virus, since some countries have begun to tighten entry procedures again.
Travel and tourism sector sources said, so far, the impact of the Omicron virus on this sector is ‘negligent’ because this sector is still in the recovery stage since last year.
The travel movement is largely not the same as it was before compared to previous years, and its effect is limited to postponing travel and not canceling it, say travel and tourism sources.
Director of Tourism at the Ashkanani Travel Agency Sameh Yahya, said London, Egypt, Dubai and Turkey top the list of countries for travel during the New Year holidays, since the ticket prices are at acceptable levels.
He added, “the choice of countries’ mostly depend on the customer’s orientation and what he wants, whether traveling as an individual or a group of friends or with family.”
He called on travelers to check the accuracy of information about countries and their procedures from their official websites and/or their embassies and not depend on social media.
General Manager of Al-Awael for Travel and Tourism, Bassam Wazyami, says, after the issuance of the decision for home quarantine, there has been a kind of hesitation for those who wish to travel for a short period not exceeding four days, especially if they are a family consisting of 4 members, for example, it will cost them a lot in terms of the PCR test, so many families and individuals postponed their travel until there is change in the situation, especially those who had planned short holidays.
Mohamed Abdel Muti who works forTourism and Travel company said people who had planned short holidays are cautious because it will not be useful for them, but this does not mean there is a negative movement in aviation in general.
He added, after the emergence of Omicron there has been a lot of hesitation from travelers to go on the trip or postpone it.
Tourism and travel agencies compete for the offers they provide to travelers, and the offers include travel tickets, accommodation, and health insurance during the travel and transportation.
Turkey is one of the most popular countries for travel during the current period, due to a number of factors, including:
1 – The decline in the exchange rate of the Turkish lira.
2 – It does not stress on any health measures or any strictness with regard to the current situation, all it requires is vaccination.
3 – It does not require a PCR test for travellers
4 – Low prices for airline tickets.
5 – Citizens do not need a prior entry visa to Turkey.
6 – It offers many entertainment, shopping and sight seeing places.
The prices of the most prominent countries, which make the travel list for the New Year holidays, are considered affordable and acceptable to travelers.
Ticket prices for Turkey range between 60-80 dinars, London starting from 180 dinars, Cairo from 80-130 dinars, and Dubai from 60-80 dinars, and there are some companies which charge higher rates.
