Travel Reservations Are Making A Strong Comeback Despite Omicron
With fears reduced about the danger of the new mutant “Omicron”, the pace of travel reservations for the New Year and “Christmas” holidays has returned to its previous levels.
Specialists in the tourism and travel sector confirmed that reservations are continuing, and tickets for this holiday have not been canceled, noting that after more than 10 days have passed, the fears of the new dynasty have been absorbed.
They told Al-Jarida that the tourism and travel market has absorbed the risks of “Omicron”, and there is no need to worry, especially in light of the government and health measures taken, which allow entry to the country for only two qurantine, with a PCR smear, useful that the movement of reservations returned to normal after the travelers’ reassurance, Especially since Kuwait has experience in dealing with the virus.
For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Travel and Tourism Offices, Muhammad Al-Mutairi, said that the last three days witnessed a strong return of reservations, stressing that things are going for the better and have become almost normal.
Al-Mutairi added that ticket prices are moderate, and travelers have begun to think about and book their vacations, expecting that things will be fine during the coming period, “and the new axis should not be met with closure.”
He explained that the most booked destinations for the New Year holidays are London, Turkey, Riyadh, Jeddah and Dubai, stressing that no reservations have been canceled during the current period.
For his part, Director-General of the General Administration of Civil Aviation, Yousef Al-Fawzan, confirmed that there are no new restrictions on air traffic, adding, “But there is strictness and firmness in adhering to the approved health requirements; To ensure safety for all.
Al-Fawzan said, in a statement on the sidelines of a celebration organized by the administration yesterday on the occasion of the World Civil Aviation Day: “We are continuing with the same precautionary measures, and there is nothing new in this regard.”
He continued, “We are now in the stage of opening air transport in the country, and we have reached about 70% of that, which has led to a decrease in ticket prices, based on the principle that if the offer increases, the price decreases.”
