Travel Ban On Five Lawyers

The Court of First Instance ordered Ministry of Health and the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) to amend the date of birth on a Saudi national’s birth certificate and Civil ID from 1952 to 1958. On behalf of the plaintiff, Lawyer Jarrah Al-Shuraikah, filed lawsuit complaining that Ministry of Health in 1971 issued a birth certificate for his client with the date April 3, 1952, which was wrong. He further explained that his client’s civil ID card was also issued based on this information. He affirmed the correct date of birth of his client is Aug 6, 1958 as stated on his Saudi national ID card. Therefore, he requested the error to be corrected.

Travel ban on five: Attorney Sheikha Fawziya Al-Sabah has denied rumors that went viral in social media that linked her name with the five lawyers who are accused in the issue of a case file of a real estate company that has gone missing, reports Al-Rai daily. She has filed a complaint with the Director- General of Electronic Crimes Investigation Department accusing the social media users of damaging her reputation and prestige without knowing the accuracy of the news. In the meantime, the Public Prosecution has imposed a travel ban on the five lawyers who are at the heart of the issue. They are suspected of links to the loss of a real estate company case file. The other three suspects who were arrested after investigations by securitymen are three men — two secretaries and a bailiff. The investigators have established the fact that there were phone calls money changed hands between the five lawyers, two secretaries and the bailiff.

Many held in raids: Officers from the Public Security Sector launched a number of security campaigns against reckless drivers in Jaber Al-Ali and Sabahiya areas and arrested eight reckless drivers and seized their vehicles, says Al-Seyassah. The officers were dispatched to the locations after receiving information about drifters who had gathered to perform their stunts. Security sources affirmed that the campaigns will continue against reckless drivers.
