Trans Mideast Expo Conference Features 30 World-class Speakers

The 16th edition of Trans Middle East Exhibition and Conference kicked off here on Wednesday.

The event, hosted for the first time by Kuwait Ports Authority (KPA), is the biggest annual ports, shipping, and transport logistics exhibition and conference in the Middle East region, Assistant Director General for Planning Affairs and Shuwaikh Port Waleed Al-Toum told reporters.

The two-day conference will feature 30 world-class transport and logistics conference speakers addressing topical issues and challenges on global and regional trade and investment, Al-Toum said.

Kuwait is looking ahead for new and diversified development visions and projects, particularly in the sea transportation sector in accordance with its fourth structural scheme, he noted. The annual event would provide several valuable opportunities for investment and business deals among participants, he added.

For his part, Naser Al-Shelaimi, head of the event’s organizing committee at KPA, stated that hosting Trans Middle East Exhibition and Conference is part of the authority’s objectives toward a brighter prospect.

KPA is currently working on several development projects, including Smart Ports that would make a quantum leap in the sea transportation field, added Al-Shelaimi.

Some 400 senior government officials, Industry principals, academics; senior executive harbor masters, harbor engineers, port engineers, maintenance supervisors and procurement decision makers will take part in the conference, he noted.

Furthermore, some of the region’s leading shippers, cargo owners, importers, exporters, shipping lines, freight forwarders, logistics companies, ports, terminal operating companies, railway operators, port equipment and services suppliers will exhibit their products and services, said Al-Shelaimi.
