Starting next week, traffic violation tickets will be sent via text message instead of paper. Major Abdullah Abu Al-Hassan, General Traffic Department Officer of the Awareness Department, announced that starting next week, paper-based violations will be discontinued gradually and violations will be issued electronically via mobile app or text message to violators.
The traffic policeman will release the fine via the wireless device he uses in his work. The fine will come to the violating person through a text message via mobile.
As part of the department's paperless office initiative, several other initiatives are in the pipeline.
