Traffic Dept To Deport Nine Expats
The Traffic and Operations Sector continued the traffic security campaigns to prosecute negligent persons and perpetrators of serious violations, reports Al-Jarida daily. The campaign resulted in the issuance of 28,092 citations, impounding 141 vehicles and 56 motorcycles, referring 62 violators to the General Traffic Department, referring 12 juveniles to the Juvenile Prosecution, and seizing 12 vehicles wanted by security and judicial authorities, in addition to the arrest of eight people wanted to serve prison sentences.
He pointed out 9 expatriates were arrested for driving without a license and have been referred to the Deportation Center.. The Public Relations and Traffic Awareness Department officer working for the General Traffic Department, Major Abdullah Buhassan, said the weekly statistics issued by the traffic operations sector showed the Hawalli Governorate Traffic Department ranked first followed by the Capital Governorate, Farwaniyah came in third place, then the Ahmadi Governorate, the Jahra Governorate and finally Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate. Buhassan stated the General Administration of Emergency Police carried out 640 security operations during the past week and recorded 1,155 traffic citations, dealt with 34 traffic accidents, and arrested 45 people for not carrying ID papers, dealt with eight street fights and arrested three drug addicts.
