KUNA - The Kuwaiti Ministry of Trade and Industry said on Sunday that the value of certificates of origin for Kuwaiti non-oil exports rose 11 percent during last August, compared to the same month last year.

In a press release, Al-Tijaria stated that the number of certificates of origin for exports to Arab and foreign countries amounted to 904 certificates with a value of 13.3 million Kuwaiti dinars (about 43 million US dollars) during last August, compared with 864 certificates for 11.9 million dinars (about 38 million dollars) during the same month. She added that the number of certificates of origin for Kuwaiti exports to Arab countries, excluding the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, amounted to 166 certificates worth 3 million dinars (about $ 9.8 million) compared to 91 certificates worth 1.6 million dinars (about $ 5.2 million) to foreign countries.

It stated that the number of certificates of origin for Kuwaiti exports to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries amounted to 647 certificates with a value of 8.5 million dinars (about $ 27 million) last August.

She indicated that Iraq tops the list of Arab countries that import the most Kuwaiti exports, while the UAE topped the list of Gulf Cooperation Council countries, while Turkey ranked first in terms of other countries in the world.
