17 November 2016 Crime News

The Misdemeanor Court ordered an experienced lawyer to pay a fine of KD 1,000 for insulting and attacking two officers from the Criminal Investigations Department. The court acquitted the two officers who were accused of using force on the lawyer.

The court referred the case to the concerned civil court. The Public Prosecution had accused the first suspect, the lawyer, of publicly insulting and humiliating the second and third suspects (officers from Ministry of Interior with ranks ‘Major’ and ‘Lieutenant Colonel’ respectively) while they were carrying out their duties.

According to the case file, when the lawyer had insulted the officers and attacked them, the second suspect responded back with insults and used force, taking advantage of his authority.
