Togolese Couple Arrested For Sorcery And Witchcraft
Public security officers have arrested a Togolese couple for allegedly extorting money from citizens and residents through sorcery and witchcraft, reports Al-Anba daily. A security source said the Farwaniya police received several complaints from citizens and residents who said they received phone calls on WhatsApp and Viber and the caller at the other end alleged they were under the influence of magic that can be got rid of by paying a certain sum of money before the magic causes more harm to them. Without going into details, the daily said, investigations conducted by the security authorities led to arrest of the couple.
Robbers identified: Robbers identified: Security officers in the Capital governorate have identified the masked men who stole more than KD 200,000 from the money exchange vehicle, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily quoting security sources said it’s only a matter of time before the thieves are arrested.
Earlier it was reported an Indian had filed a complaint with the Salhiya Police Station saying while he and his Iranian colleague were driving with the money, the suspects crashed into their vehicle and forced them to pull over. He also said the men were armed with a sledge hammer and threatened to kill them before driving off with the money. A security source had said the robbers may have used a stolen vehicle or stolen numbers plate and added police were reviewing the CCTV footage taken by cameras installed in nearby shops where the incident took place.
