Timeshare Scam Run By Indian Company In Kuwait
This is to get assistance on how to proceed with the utmost difficulty a company has given to us. We took membership in Country Club Kuwait in March 2015, a holiday scheme for 25 years – every year at any destination for 7 days. Their head office is in Hyderabad. The amount then paid was KD 1,510.
Whenever we approached the Customer Service for a holiday service, we felt their services were zero, that nothing materialized.
We received an invitation call last year to their office in Kuwait City, saying there is a presentation. They said we can convert our investment to real estate by adding to what we had paid earlier.
Thinking, we can own property, rather than keeping a membership with no use, we paid KD 3,500 in addition for the plot in Bangalore.
We were told we would be called to Indian embassy for registration procedures and other false promises and rewards, which never happened. We made multiple visits to their office – all staffs were new each time we visited, they weren’t able to convince us with anything. Recently, we visited their office, and we came to know they have vacated from Kuwait. We neither have a working contact number or an office for Country Club in Kuwait. There are so many others in Kuwait in similar situation. We sent few emails to the head office in Hyderabad which even doesn’t respond. Please assist us in how to proceed with for refund.

Answer:Â Unfortunately, Kuwait is replete with such stories of foreign entities marketing their products and services with the sole aim of defrauding their unsuspecting customers. In order not to fall prey to such marauding scammers, it is always advisable to do due deligence before committing yourself and funds to any foreign entity that sets up shop in Kuwait. Touching on your specific issue, we advise that those of you cheated in the deal must pull your resources together, hire a lawyer in Hyderabad (India) to locate the company involved and file a case against them on your behalf.
