About a week after the start of the direct commercial flights between Kuwait and Egypt, the prices of return tickets to Kuwait from Cairo witnessed significant decreases by about 30%, Al Anbaa reported.

Responsible sources in the tourism and travel offices confirmed to the daily that ticket prices to Cairo and India will witness further declines to reach their normal rates by next October.

The prices of the flight tickets from Cairo witnessed significant declines during the past week as it reached an average of KD 200 dinars, for a ticket from Kuwait to Cairo and back to Kuwait at a later date.

On the increase in ticket prices in the last period the sources made it clear that Civil Aviation does not have any authority to determine ticket prices, but the matter remains up to supply and demand and the pricing policy of airlines.

The sources pointed out that the role of Civil Aviation is limited to supervising and controlling flights, in addition to looking into complaints of travelers against tourism and travel offices and airlines and violating those who do not abide by the laws.
