Thwart Attempt To Smuggle Narcotics By Sea

The Ministry of the Interior announced that the border security sector represented by the General Coast Guard managed to thwart the attempt to smuggle a large amount of narcotics into the country by sea.

The Ministry of Security Affairs and Media stated that a boat was spotted coming from outside the territorial waters towards one of the Kuwaiti islands, and it was immediately intercepted by a patrol from the Maritime Formations Department and referred to the Maritime Security Department, and there were two citizens on board.

The added that after the investigation with them, they admitted the presence of a quantity of drugs near the island of Kubbar, and after they were recovered, it was found that they were 3 sealed bags containing 3 items of suspected narcotic substances, and the defendants and the seizures were referred to the competent authority to take the necessary legal measures against them
