The Uae Invites Doctors Residing In It To Apply For Golden Residency

In implementation of the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to grant golden residency to those with scientific competencies and distinguished experiences, the UAE government has called on all doctors residing in it to apply for a golden residency, which grants them and their families a long residency for 10 years. It enhances their sense of stability and contributes to attracting the best health expertise and skills from different countries of the world, and is positively reflected in enhancing the efficiency of services and the quality of medical care in the country to be the best in the world.

This gesture comes from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, in appreciation of the efforts of the heroes of the first line of defense, their giving and sacrifices, and the spirit of high responsibility they showed in the face of the “Covid-19” pandemic, and their great participation in confronting it, which contributed to supporting the efforts made by the government to preserve the safety and health of society.

Doctors who have a license from the health regulatory authorities in the country can apply for golden residency until next September, through the website “smartservices.ica.gov.ae” dedicated to doctors in the UAE, while doctors in the Emirate of Dubai can apply through the “smart” platform. gdrfad.gov.ae”, and a joint team of the concerned government agencies will work to receive and evaluate applications to issue the golden residency for doctors who qualify for it.

In addition, 7 centers affiliated with the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship will be allocated in all emirates of the country for doctors wishing to submit applications for obtaining golden residency by visiting the designated centers in person.

The UAE government had recently announced the start of receiving applications for obtaining golden residency for programmers, within the framework of the “National Program for Programmers” launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, which aims to grant golden residency to 100,000 programmers residing in the UAE and the world.

It is worth noting that the UAE has implemented a long-term residence visa system, for five or ten years, that is automatically renewed, when conditions are met, for certain categories including investors, entrepreneurs and specialized talents. The system allows residents of the UAE, foreign expatriates and their families wishing to come to work, live and study in the country, the possibility of enjoying long-term residency without the need for an Emirati sponsor.

The Cabinet, headed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, announced, last November, the adoption of major changes in granting golden residency to residents, and the inclusion of new categories for long-term residence visa “golden residency” for ten years for all holders of doctorate degrees, doctors, and engineers in the fields of computer and electronics engineering. Programming, electricity, and biotechnology, and outstanding students at accredited universities in the country with an average of 3.8 and more.

In accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. 56 of 2018 regulating residency permits for investors, entrepreneurs, and owners of specialized talents, the decision organized the granting of residency permits to investors, entrepreneurs, owners of specialized talents, researchers in various fields of science and knowledge, and brilliant students.

The category of talents eligible for the ten-year golden residency includes specialized talents and researchers in the fields of science and knowledge, including doctors, specialists, scientists, inventors and creators.
