The Supreme Committee For The Operation Of The New Passenger Building Holds Its First Meeting

Today, the Supreme Committee to meet the technical and operational requirements of the new passenger terminal No. (T2) at Kuwait International Airport held its first meeting chaired by the President of Civil Aviation Sheikh Salman Al-Hammoud and the membership of the concerned government agencies through a virtual meeting.

During the meeting, the President of Civil Aviation and Chairman of the Supreme Committee, Sheikh Salman Al-Hammoud, confirmed that the committee aims to speed up the completion of the new passenger terminal T2, which was one of the wishes of His Highness the late Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, who laid the foundation stone for this vital project in April 2017; Where His Highness was keen on the speed of completion of the project as it is the first civilized gateway to the state. His Highness also had a prominent and major role in the speed of completion of the T4 passenger building, which achieved a qualitative leap in raising the capabilities of the air transport sector.

The committee will ensure that all the necessary requirements are fulfilled for the success of the operational readiness program, and verify that all concerned parties have met the requirements for operation in order to achieve the process of transition to full actual and successful operation, as well as ensure that all concerned parties achieve the technical and operational requirements to complete the approval process for receiving facilities and transfer From the authority responsible for construction and completion to the authority responsible for licensing and operation.

The committee aims to ensure the completion of the process of assigning the operation of the new passenger terminal (T2) and the management of Kuwait International Airport as an integrated model to a global airport operator, and to ensure that all requirements are met for the new terminal operating program.

The supreme committee will ensure that the terminal building (T2) is ready and that all the technical requirements of the facilities and systems are met in order to meet the needs of all future operations to make the building a smart airport, including the systems and networks connections to the new terminal building and all the Kuwait International Airport buildings for all entities operating at Kuwait International Airport according to The latest technologies adopted at airports.

The formation of the committee comes according to Ministerial Resolution No. 404 of 2020 from Minister of State for Services Affairs and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Mubarak Salem Al-Haris, which came under the chairmanship of the President of Civil Aviation Sheikh / Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah and the membership of each of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works as Vice President, Director General of Civil Aviation and Director General The General Administration of Customs, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Ports Security Affairs, the Director General of the General Secretariat for Planning and Development, the Acting Director General of the Roads Authority, the Deputy Director General of the Kuwait Municipality for the Urban Planning Sector and the Structural Planner, the Assistant Undersecretary for the Ministry of Finance for Budgetary Affairs and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity and Water for the Electricity Distribution Networks Sector, in addition to representatives from Civil aviation.
