The "red Crescent" Announces The Departure Of A Relief Plane To Sudan

Today, Saturday, the Kuwait Red Crescent Society announced the takeoff of a relief plane from Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base to Sudan, carrying 40 tons of foodstuffs, tents and water pumps to deliver to the brotherly Sudanese people.


The Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors, Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer, said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the relief aid comes as a continuation of the previous aid provided by Kuwait through the association, indicating that there are another number of aircraft that will head to Sudan via an air bridge to help the brothers there.
Al-Sayer added that the torrents that the number of Sudanese states have been subjected to have caused a large displacement and massive damage to property, explaining that the association is coordinating with the Sudanese Red Crescent to distribute this aid urgently and see the needs to provide it in the coming days.


He thanked the Ministry of Defense for harnessing the planes and the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their contribution to the success of the humanitarian mission, calling on the philanthropists and the private sector to provide urgent assistance to the brotherly Sudanese people to face the effects of the great destruction caused by the floods and torrents there.
Al-Sayer pointed out that the association has opened the door for donations through the association’s website, adding that the situation that the brothers are going through in Sudan requires immediate intervention from humanitarian organizations to bring their relief.
He said that the Red Crescent Society has undertaken and will do many initiatives and efforts to support those affected and victims of the floods that swept Sudan.
