The Parliamentary Interior And Defense Committee Refuses To Increase The Value Of Traffic Violations
The Internal Affairs and Defense Committee discussed, during its meeting today, a draft law amending some provisions of Decree-Law No. 67 of 1967 in the matter of traffic, in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Interior.
The head of the committee, MP Mubarak Al-Ajmi, said in a statement to the Media Center of the National Assembly that the committee recorded its objection to the government's proposal to increase the value of violations, stressing that the committee will not allow the citizen's pocket to be exhausted more than that. He added that at the end of last week, the committee received 7 proposals for laws in the matter of amending the election law, and a meeting was scheduled for next Wednesday to discuss them, stressing the committee's determination to coordinate between them to come up with a fair and equitable law for all and the speed of implementation of the law and presenting it in the first session of the National Assembly.
He stated that the members of the committee were surprised by the number of files and topics in the committee since the previous council, stressing the members' determination to quickly complete these topics for presentation to the council and voting on them.
He added that the committee discussed, in its first meeting, amending some articles of the Foreigners' Residence Law and voting on them.
