According to Ministry of Public Works sources, Minister Ali Al-Mousa stressed the importance of filling job vacancies in all sectors of the ministry by employing national cadres in the jobs that the ministry requires following the implementation of the first and second phases of the replacement plan over the past two years.
According to the sources, Al-Mousa emphasized the importance of allowing Kuwaiti youth from various disciplines to fill vacant positions in coordination with the Civil Service Commission, noting that citizens currently make up more than 98 percent of the ministry's total workforce of about 15,000 employees, according to a local Arabic daily.
According to Eng Iman Al-Omar, Director of the Ministry's Planning Department, the ministry recently informed the Civil Service Commission of its needs for fiscal 2022-2023, including 637 job opportunities distributed across various sectors and specializations, up from 716 jobs the previous fiscal year.
She said that the ministry had openings for 18 Master's degree holders, 12 postgraduate certificate holders, 11 PhD holders, and 95 other credentials holders.
She went on to say that the administrative, financial, and legal affairs sector was the most in need, with 169 positions, followed by the control and audit sector with 142 jobs, and finally the Government Center for Tests, Quality Control, and Research with 117 jobs.
