The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announced today, Wednesday, the arrival of the first flights under the plan for domestic workers to return to Kuwait from high-risk countries on a list of 34 banned countries to Kuwait International Airport to be on next Monday, Al Qabas reported.

The first phase will cover the travel of domestic workers from India and the Philippines after medical laboratories have been accredited abroad, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health and the concerned authorities.

DGCA announced the readiness to bring in the first flight of domestic workers starting next Monday, stressing that the success of their return plan of expats from the 34 banned countries would open the way for the return of the remaining expats from all countries.

Officials stated the return plan for domestic workers will likely take 4 months, and will save costs for sponsors who are interested in having their domestic workers return. The sponsor is free to choose the arrival of his workers via direct flights to Kuwait or choose an intermediary country (transit).
