The Fee For Kuwaitis Entering Egypt Alone Is Incorrect

07 May 2022 Kuwait

According to diplomatic sources, the news claim spreading on social media that Egypt has imposed an entry charge solely on Kuwaitis is false.

According to a local Arabic newspaper citing Egyptian officials, the costs are not levied just on Kuwaitis, since the decision was announced more than a year ago and was applied to people of all Arab nations without prejudice or naming a particular nationality, as is standard procedure.

According to the sources, several nations, particularly Western countries, levy costs many times more than Egypt, which charges a basic price of around 7.5 dinars, which was imposed on various countries more than a year ago.

According to the sources, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Kuwaiti Embassy in Cairo issued an official statement on March 18, 2021, stating, "The Kuwaiti Embassy in Cairo would like to inform all Kuwaiti citizens wishing to travel to the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt that the Egyptian authorities have imposed entry visa fees on all citizens of Arab countries in the amount of $2,000." (25 US dollars).
