The Criminal Court Presided Over By Judge Acquitted A Kuwaiti Citizen For Threatening And Assaulting His Wife
The Criminal Court presided over by Judge Abdullah Al-Othman acquitted a Kuwaiti citizen who was accused of possessing a Kalashnikov and ammunition as well as threatening and assaulting his wife. The Public Prosecution had charged the citizen with possessing the aforementioned weapon, threatening to kill his wife using the weapon and assaulting her, which resulted in her sustaining multiple injuries.
The defense counsel Lawyer Elaf Al-Saleh insisting that there are no concrete evidences to substantiate the allegations against her client. She explained that the plaintiff (the wife) has always raised problems with the defendant with or without reason.
On the fateful day, she forced her daughter to call the police and inform them that her father assaulted and threatened to kill her mother. Lawyer Al-Saleh insisted on the invalidation of the search procedures conducted on her client’s house particularly his private room without a warrant sanctioned by the Public Prosecution especially since he had already left the house after his fight with his wife. She said there was no justification to search the house and his private room, which is always locked, insisting that this is a clear violation of the provisions of the law on collection of weapons.
