Teachers Annoyed With New Law On Certificate Equivalency
Teachers of public schools expressed their frustration concerning new law for equivalency of educational certificates, complaining that their salaries have been suspended until Ministry of Higher Education responds, reports Al-Rai daily.
The teachers explained that they have been working for Ministry of Education since 2010/2011. They had graduated from the College of Basic Education of Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET). They sought information from Ministry of Higher Education but did not receive any response.
Meanwhile, Al-Anba daily reported that the issue of equivalency of certificates issued by Kuwait University and PAAET represents an obstacle for Ministry of Education when it comes to new appointments. Undersecretary of Ministry of Education Dr Saud Al-Harbi stressed that the Undersecretary of Ministry of Higher Education Dr Saud Al-Mukhaizem has been exerting tremendous efforts to put an end to this issue through the relevant decree, adding that the decree is almost ready. He affirmed that a solution can be expected this week.
