22 July 2018 Crime News

A 30-yearold Syrian has been accused of stealing jewelry from his mother, reports Al-Rai daily. This came after a 70-year-old Syrian man and his son filed a complaint at a police station.

The elderly Syrian told police his wife’s jewelry got stolen while they were out visiting relatives. Officers from the Criminal Evidence Department at the Interior Ministry lifted fingerprints to identify the suspect. After an intense investigation, police suspected the son who came with his father to file the compliant.

After verifying their suspicion, police summoned the son for questioning. He then admitted that he broke the door of their house deliberately to make his parents believe that thieves broke into their house. He said he stole the jewelry, sold it and used the money to buy luxury items.
