Supply Of Pfizer Vaccine To Restart Vaccination Drive In Five Health Centers

27 April 2021 Coronavirus

The Ministry is planning to provide some primary health care centers designated for providing vaccinations against the Coronavirus with special refrigerators to keep the Pfizer vaccine under specific cooling temperatures and within days, to ensure that the pace of vaccinations are not hampered, informed sources in the Ministry of Health (MoH) revealed to Al Qabas daily. This is a preemptive step to limit any consequence that may arise from the possibility of continuing delays in the arrival of the third batch of the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine to the country,

The sources added to Al-Qabas that the ministry is preparing to provide the health centers of Musaed Hamad Al Saleh Health Center (Al Shaab), Al-Siddiq, Al-Masayel, Al-Naseem and Mutab Al-Shalahi in Al Farwaniyah with refrigerators for storing the Pfizer vaccine, to restart the pace of vaccinations, after it stopped for days, particularly due to the delay in the arrival of the third Oxford vaccine batch, indicating that a part of the second Oxford batch will be allocated to people who received the first doses months ago, and it is likely that they will start being distributed in the first week of May.

The sources stated that the resumption of vaccinations in the five health centers with the Pfizer vaccine will relieve pressure on the Kuwait Vaccination Center in the fairgrounds, and will contribute to accelerating the pace of vaccinations, which reached about 28% of the total population. It noted that the regular arrival of Pfizer’s batches made it possible to provide it to other vaccine sites and in specific quantities, while the Ministry is still awaiting the date for the arrival of the third batch of the Oxford vaccine.
