‘students Using Fraudulent Methods To Take Exams Will Suffer In Practical Life’

Some students fell to the temptations of an alleged “legal advisor” who expressed willingness to help them solve assignments in exchange for varying sums after several students of the Faculty of Law at Kuwait University submitted complaints about curricular pressures and their dissatisfaction with the schedule of the upcoming final exams, reports Al-Qabas daily. The students did not stop committing such a heinous act. Rather, some of them spoke about “bad service” he provided, describing him as a “fake counselor”, indicating he had insisted on the payment of the agreed sum before providing assistance, and many of the answers he provided were wrong.

As a result, they obtained low grades. Some students said they transferred money to the account of the alleged counselor, indicating they paid 100 dinars each to obtain a court ruling in resolving one question, while they paid between 15 to 30 dinars to solve the simplest assignments, according to a tweet posted by a student on Twitter.

The daily contacted the service provider to find out what was happening and he insisted on communicating through the phone instead of WhatsApp. He explained that he was trying to help the students obtain books and abstracts to extract answers to help them.

Asked about the price, he mentioned that the price is determined by the type of question whether an essay or objective, explaining that he can answer all questions according to the materials he has written and its references.

Many college students have criticized the behavior of some of their colleagues who resorted to easy methods of obtaining grades, and the college professors emphasized that assignments are aimed at educating students and improving their academic level to become lawyers defending the rights of others.

They denounced the act of students resorting to external aid. Chairman of Public Law Department Dr Ibrahim Al-Hamoud said “What distinguishes the legal opinion from other people is the ability to form and write one. Therefore, students should rely on nobody from the first years of school to be able to form this opinion”.

He also said “the student may consult others to benefit from legal opinions, but he should neither buy them nor make others provide the answers.” Professor of law at the college Dr Musaed Al-Enezi disclosed that “students resorting to other people to do research or take exams on their behalf has become an easy option due to the distance teaching. These are religiously forbidden behaviors, and whoever cheats is not one of us. A student who chooses law major must love it and be ready to be creative”.

Al-Enezi pointed out that the aforementioned methods harm the student in his job and may affect his work and promotion, because he did not depend on his own efforts but the efforts of others. He stressed that professors are not negligent in explaining the curricula, and they answer students’ questions and inquiries during the lecture, and in the office hours allocated to help them.

Dr Al-Enezi said persistence and determination are essential for students to reach their goal regardless of their abilities and mental levels, indicating “We made our children in the Ministry of Education become at ease with laziness and obtaining grades without exerting any effort.” And, the benefit of pressures mounting on the students will become clear when they enter the practical stage”. Dr Al-Hammoud said “a student resorting to services becomes legally weak and dependent on others, while he may lack the ability to think, analyze and formulate sound opinions. However, many of them may become employees of sensitive departments in the state.” Al-Enezi stressed that the students’ failure to assume responsibility since the beginning of life refl ects negatively on their future and the future of society.
