Story Of 5 Bangladeshis And A Kuwaiti

05 August 2018 Crime News

There is nothing harder than turning the victim into perpetrator (aggressor) and accusing him of being the culprit.

It is inconceivable that this happens under the protection of Interior Ministry officials for the sake of their colleague, a senior official, who turned out to be the father of the aggressor, reports Al-Rai daily.

This is the story of five Bangladeshis — some of them hold the Italian nationality – who were on board an aircraft coming from Rome to Kuwait and then to Dhaka.

A Kuwaiti got involved in a fight with the five Bangladeshis as documented by a passenger who uploaded a video clip on social media.

Immediately after the plane landed, the five Bangladeshis and the Kuwaiti were referred to Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station.

The Bangladeshis said the fight started when the Kuwaiti took the mobile of one of them forcefully and the argument escalated into a fight.

After the intervention of some ministry officials, officers assigned at Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station put pressure on the Bangladeshis to withdraw the complaint and threatened that they would be accused of assaulting an officer on duty and might be imprisoned, so the Bangladeshis refrained from filing a complaint.

Under such circumstances, is it possible to ask what the concerned airline has done to the Kuwaiti?

What is the role of the aircraft protection staff if they were not present during the melee? Why did the case end this way?

The most important question remains: Is it in the interest of Kuwait’s reputation and its security apparatus if the latter deals with individual cases, such as the incident, in this manner?

Or is Kuwait, including its reputation, not worthy of attention in the eyes of many?
