State Security Filed A Case Against A Filipina Who Was Accused Of Joining Daesh

The Court of Appeals has referred back to the Public Prosecution the State Security case filed against a Filipina who was accused of joining DAESH. This was aimed to translate the context of the messages recorded on the Telegram program, based on which the defendant will be interrogated.

The Court of Appeals sentenced the defendant to ten-year imprisonment with hard labor, followed by deportation. According to the case file, the 1984- born Filipina woman was charged with joining a terrorist organization (DAESH) and intending to launch terrorist attacks in Kuwait. She entered Kuwait in June 2016 on a domestic article-20 visa, and communicated with DAESH members in Libya through an account on social media, using a different name in order to avert suspicions.

After she was arrested and confronted with the evidences, she confessed that she was willing to commit terrorist attack as soon as the right opportunity came her way and she was provided with the necessary devices. She revealed about her intention to attack a certain class of the society with the aim of disturbing the security of the country and provoking crisis.
