Stampede At Mishref Caused By Rumors About Booster Doses Without Appointments

Kuwait Center for Vaccination in Mishref area saw an unusually large number of people because incorrect information claimed residents can get booster shots without an appointment, the Ministry of Health said in a statement on Tuesday.

As a result of coordination with security authorities and volunteers, the stampede was under control, and no one was injured.

The spread of false information about getting a booster dose without an appointment has led to large numbers of people arriving at the Mishref vaccination center.

In order to preserve the health and safety of citizens and residents, the MOH urged all to follow official sources for all information and to adhere to specified times and dates.

When overcrowding occurred at the Vaccination Center, the Ministry of Interior immediately notified security teams. They immediately took control of the situation.
