Staff Told To Hurry In Entering Their Data In New Fingerprint System
Sources from the Ministry of Electricity and Water warned against the failure of employees to update their data for the new fingerprint attendance system within the grace period allowed for full operation, which is six months since the signing of the contract in August, reports Al-Anba daily. They explained that the employees who did not update their data, after the completion of the replacement of all the fingerprint attendance devices in the internal and external sites of the ministry, will be unable to prove their attendance and departure, which will expose them to legal accountability. The team in charge of the fingerprint attendance system, with the cooperation of the executing company, is gradually operating the various sites, which is six in number, in addition to the main ministry building in South Surra.
These sites will launch the service as a starting point for the implementation of the project. After operating the system in the main building on Wednesday and in Jabriya Information Systems Department at the beginning of last month, the new system was made operational in the new sites since the beginning of last week. The Sabhan Information Systems site was fitted with two devices, and the site of the Substation Maintenance Department in the Sabhan area was fitted with 12 devices.
The warehouse management site in Sabhan was fitted with four devices, and the network emergency management site in Al-Salam area with five devices. The sources revealed that the number of workers who have entered their fingerprints so far in the new system is about 17,000 out of 27,000 employees, which requires the rest of the employees to hurry up so that they can avoid falling into legal problems.
They indicated that circulars were sent in advance by the planning, training and information systems sector obligating the sectors to inform all employees about the completion of the procedures for the inclusion and identification of their fingerprints, revealing that this was scheduled to extend from November 15 to December 28 according to the timetables for each sector and department. The sources stressed that the fingerprint team organized an internal media campaign in the ministry by sending emails and messages, and publishing posts on a daily basis with different designs prepared by the team to speed up the implementation of the project.
