Ibl Tigers Sweep Falcon Int’l Cargo, Incredi-bowlers Post 1st Win

Midway of the elimination round of the First Philippine Bowling Association in Kuwait – Kuwait Bowling Federation Cup 2019 Tenpin Bowling League held at the newest bowling center in Kuwait the Bowling Sporting Club Complex at Salmiya there were no incursions from outside force, only switching in ranks of the third and fourth places while the other six teams, keeping tightly the post they are holding. The six teams that registered victory were Incredi-Bowlers, “X” Strikers, IBL Tigers, Jordan Elite Bowlers, Asian Air Safari and UNIMONI Exchange while Swooping Eagles played bye.

Siddarth Nair scored a team-high 604 points (209, 159, 236) as the IBL Tigers defeated the languid Falcon Int’l Cargo 2,817-2,641. The ravenous Tigers continued its growling attacked all throughout the three-game series 925-882, 912-841, 955-918 that left the hapless Falcon helpless to depend itself. The other Tigers were Rani Skeik (519), Ulysses Menezes (461), Rudolph Castelino (449) and Jason D’Souza (408) while Falcon top scorer was Jayson Gamba (533), Imelda Calingasan (454), Christine Moreno (310), Jess Tolentino (283), Jocelyn Barros (237), Jhon Narvasa (159), Gener Calingasan (147) and Mohammad Othman (137). With the win the Tigers climbed from fourth to third position with 4-2-1 win-lose record while the Falcons remained the cliff hanger with 2-4-1.

The Asian Air Safari swept their way past KRAHS 2,777-2,606 to take a commanding lead of 5-2 against 4-3 win-lose record. The Air-liner registered its third winning streak while KRAHS crushed for two consecutive weeks and skid from third to fourth place. Mohammad Karam (572) and Aqeel Farisy (561) piloted the Air Safari and was assisted by Fadhi Al Masri (499), Neveen Wasel (441) and Sonia Mathews (170) while KRAHS top scorer was Moises Amahan (490), followed by Eddie Pena (483), Joel Tizon (480), Mar Evangelista (467) and Eden Danan (338). Asian had 5-2 while KRAHS made 4-3 record.            

Aji Varghese and Ali Arqoub steered the Jordan Elite Bowlers to victory over the Pin Pals 2,821-2,702. In the first two games the Jordan bowlers routed the Pin Pals 920-880, 942-855 but on the third game the Indian team outscored the Jordans 942-934. With the win-lose record JEB registered a 5-2 mark and kept the sixth position while Pin Pals had 2-5 record and advance from twelfth to eleventh place. Aside from the heroics of Aji and Ali who scored 541 and 515 points they were supported by Colin Costa (494), Rami Al Mudhaf (344), Ali Hikmat (334) and Basma Ammar (267) while Pin Pals topnotch was Vasant Harshan (525), Avinash Mathew (492), Allan Fernandes (215), Diego Camilo (286), Agnello Fernandes (279), Raj Reddy (256) and Neeta Fernandes (128). The Incredi-Bowlers posted its first recorded win in the league against SKARZ (2,783-2,592) with the exquisite performances of Lito Michael when he delivered 192, 178, 206 (576 points) and Erick Chang (538). They were assisted by Melvin Alabado (446), Sandy Panopio (445) and Adolfo Prena (338) while SKARZ had Stephen Sequiera (499), Melwin Isaac (458), Lionel Mendes (445), Fatima Fernandes (359) and Kathy Fernandes (350).

Finally, the “X” Strikers led by prolific superstar Ronell Valencia who scored 248, 176, 201 (625) easily disposed the sleeping Dragon Bowlers 2700-2427 and registered 4-2-1 record kept its fifth rank. Ronell was seconded by Cris Carungay (405), Joe Presenta (305), Abel and Bima Nitikusumo (553), Rocky Castil (167), Reygan Percy (134) and Imelda Daguio (102) while the Dragon bowlers were Bing Robiso (510), Lester Matugas (393), Valerio Lopez (392), Mostafa Ahmad (365), Ron Favor (290) and Anna Liza dela Sada (83). The top rank UNIMONI Exchange’s kingpins Ibrahim Dubayan (565) and Mohammad Khaled (549) together with John Caldwell (388), Ayad Al Amiri (259), Rashid Akher Ali (358), Ahmad Fadhil Karam (299) and Faisal Saleem (186) walloped the shorthanded NUSANTARA 2,941-2,640 with just four bowlers, Ahmad Fahmi (539), Tanjung Gantosori (454), Erlisa G. (450) and Nuki Winuka (420). The Swooping Eagles who played bye were Riz Roque (508), Clinton Cathers (443), Alonzo Bush (401), Benjie Roque (391) and Mona Corpus (387).
